Philanthropy

Queensland Symphony Orchestra directly engages over 100,000 Queenslanders in live performances annually.  QSO connects with:

  • over 6000 primary and secondary students in education concerts
  • over 6500 toddlers in kiddies concerts
  • up to 20 tertiary students in performance internships
  • over 3700 people in regional communities
  • reaches 506,000 people through free to air national radio broadcasts
  • supports state and national opera and ballet companies in over 60 performances
  • partners with over 10 touring international musical and ballet acts through commercial hires of the Orchestra.

Maintaining a symphony orchestra is a significant challenge and would not be possible without the generous support of Queensland Symphony Orchestra's philanthropic donors.

There are several ways you can support the Orchestra as a philanthropic donor:

Encore Donation Appeal

The annual Encore Donation Appeal supports Community Outreach and Education programs, the purchase of essential orchestra equipment and musical scores and the engagment of the finest Australian and International conductors and artists.
