Donations

Financial support from our philanthrophic donors is a critical part of our operations.

In 2010, Queensland Symphony Orchestra will -

• Play to over 100,000 people in live performances and national radio broadcasts;
• Stage over 80 performances featuring acclaimed Australian and international artists;
• Enable Queensland school children throughout the state to experience live orchestral music;
• Tour regional and far north Queensland;
• Support state, national and international ballet and opera companies record repertoire for ABC Classics label;
• Provide the only professional employment for our state's leading classical musicians.

Maintaining a symphony orchestra is a significant challenge and would not be possible without the generous support of philanthropic donors.

There are several ways you can support the Orchestra as a philanthropic donor.

Encore Donation Appeal

The Encore Donation Appeal supports three key areas:

Community Outreach and Education Programs including student workshops on our annual tour;

Engagement of international conductors and artists in our Maestro Series; and

Purchase of essential orchestra equipment and musical scores.

Gifts over $2 are tax deductible and every donation helps shape our future.

Support your favourite musician

In 2010 we introduce an opportunity for donors to support individual musicians by becoming a "Maestro Season Chair Donor". Chair donations support the individual musician's role within the orchestral experience. Do you have a favourite instrument or musician you would like to support?  Four Chair Donor categories are available for the 2010 Maestro season:

  • - Player Chair $1,500
  • - Principal Chair $3,000
  • - Concertmaster Chair $5,000 and
  • - Guest Artist Chair - starting at $8,000

Chair donors will be acknowledged in the Maestro Series Concert Programs and on our website.

Gifts are tax deductible and may be made by monthly instalments.
